How to add call-to-action buttons on your page?

A web page does not exist without reason. It exists to communicate something and, most often, to direct the user to a desired action.

Adding a product to the shopping cart, subscribing to a newsletter, navigating to another page, making contact with customer service, ... Actions are as varied as the objectives of the businesses using them. But all actions are called "Call-to-Action" (CTA) and are typically represented by a clickable button, a call-to-action button.

Why add a call-to-action button to your page?

Call-to-Action buttons are there to encourage visitors to perform actions that are important to your business.

It may, for example, be:

  • book a ticket, a session, a show, etc.

  • contact us (to make an appointment or ask questions)

  • download an app

  • buy

  • subscribe to a newsletter, an event, a training, a conference, etc.

  • watch an explaining video

  • learn more 

In all cases, call-to-action buttons should always direct users to a page directly linked to the promise made in the initial call-to-action. This type of page, aka landing page, will convert your visitors into customers.

How to create call-to-action buttons with

To add a call-to-action button, just follow these steps:

  1. Open the page in which you want to insert a CTA button OR click on "Create tyl"

  2. Click on the + icon

  3. Click on the "Action" button

  4. Select type of action, here call-to-action button

  5. Enter a title for the action (required)

  6. Enter a subtitle (optional)
  7. Type the URL that should open when users click on the button (required)

  8. Click on "Add"

  9. When in "Design", choose the style, colors and fonts of your button (the same way you choose the style, colors and fonts for the rest of your page)


  • Actual style, colors and fonts of your button will vary when you design your page.
  • Subtitle is optional, but title and URL are required or the "Add" button is disabled.
